Been a long while ...

I haven't posted in a long time. There is a lot of catching up to do. Rather than do all that at once, I think I will let it fill in over time. Today, I want to talk about geocaching. I gave Lyle a geocaching kit for Christmas because he had been talking about trying geocaching for years.

In January, we started to geocache. We had planned to go on a cruise is May and Lyle realized that each of the islands we were to visit had caches. So we decided to cache our way through the cruise. It was lots of fun and great togetherness. We even cached to and from Pennsic. And for the first time, we took an intentional side trip from Pennsic to go caching.

This month has lots of events because of International Geocaching Day (today). Yesterday we went to our first CITO, cache in trash out. The group we were with found a large pile of trash but there is much more to be found. Today we went with another group to find our first 5-difficulty cache. It was wet and muddy and loads of fun.

We cache under Lyle's username, azuresquirrel.  Our finds and hides can be seen on and some are cross-posted to

Until next time...
